Description
-The EKKO EK16A-189Li is a three-wheel 3,500 lb capacity lithium-ion electric forklift built for tight indoor work — loading docks, stock rooms, manufacturing floors, and warehouses on flat concrete. The three-wheel configuration uses a single steer wheel at the rear and dual drive wheels at the front, which trades the cornering stability of a four-wheel truck for a tighter turning circle in narrow aisles.
Power comes from a 24V / 200Ah lithium-ion battery paired with a Zapi® controller and an AC drive motor. The 3.3 kW lift motor handles the full 189-inch maximum lift with a 31.5-inch free lift. Lithium chemistry brings the operational advantages buyers cross-shop for: opportunity charging without memory effect, no acid maintenance, no equalize cycle, and a longer cycle life than the lead-acid configurations these trucks used to ship with.
The truck’s footprint is the headline number for buyers planning around existing rack layouts: 65-inch overall length, 42.1-inch overall width, and a 58.9-inch turning radius. Wheelbase is 49.2 inches. Service weight is 5,300 lb. At 6% laden / 10% unladen gradeability, the EK16A-189Li handles standard warehouse-floor inclines (dock approaches, ramp transitions) but is not configured for steep grades or outdoor terrain.
Operator controls layout follows a familiar pattern. Hydraulic power steering takes effort off the steering wheel. Three hydraulic levers handle lift, tilt, and side shift; mast tilt range is 3° forward and 6° backward.
The carriage carries side-shifting forks for pallet alignment without driving in, and forks are adjustable from 7.9 inches to 26 inches apart for narrow boxes through standard pallets. Fork length is 42.1 inches; fork thickness is 1.4 inches; fork width is 4 inches. Cushion tires fit the indoor-flat-floor mission — smaller, narrower footprint than pneumatics, no air to lose.
EKKO builds the EK16A-189Li with steel construction and robotic welding, which keeps the weld geometry consistent unit-to-unit and removes one of the variables hand-welded chassis carry. FAQ
-Can the EK16A-189Li be used outdoors?
No. The EK16A-189Li is a cushion-tire electric forklift configured for indoor use on flat surfaces. Cushion tires lose traction on gravel, asphalt seams, and wet outdoor surfaces, and the 6% laden gradeability is not designed for steep ramps or outdoor terrain.
Are the battery and charger included?
Yes. Both the 24V / 200Ah lithium-ion battery and the matching 24V / 50A charger ship with the forklift. Pricing is for the complete unit.
Why lithium-ion instead of lead-acid?
Lithium-ion chemistry is opportunity-chargeable — operators can plug in during breaks without harming battery life — and there is no acid maintenance, no equalize cycle, and no water topping. For multi-shift operations or facilities that want to skip the battery-swap room entirely, lithium is the right configuration. The trade-off is a higher up-front cost, recovered over the battery’s service life.
What’s the lift speed?
Laden lift speed is 4.71 in/s; unladen is 10.2 in/s. Lowering speed is 11.8 in/s laden and 15.7 in/s unladen.
How tight can it turn?
Turning radius is 58.9 inches. Combined with the 42.1-inch overall width and 65-inch overall length, the EK16A-189Li is purpose-built for narrow aisle work.
How is it delivered?
